Shaykh Ahmad as-Subay'ee حفظه الله تعالى said:
"So they [Ahlus-Sunnah] consider President Erdogan to be a legitimate ruler according to the Sharee’ah, having the right of As-Sami' wat-Taa'ah, & leaving obedience to him & rebelling against him is forbidden, & it is forbidden to criticize him openly, even if he is affiliated with the jamaa’ah of Ikhwaanul-Muslimeen who are well-known to the People of Knowledge for bid’ah. So this jamaa’ah is criticized for it’s bid’a, & President Erdogan, it is not allowed to criticize him openly.
So O Allaah! How beautiful is the da’wah of the Sunnah & how complete, in it’s thoroughness, it’s mercy, it’s justice, & it’s beauty & it’s richness, & that it is from the greatest reasons of goodness, righteousness & rectification.
(O Allaah! Make us & our brothers from those who adhere to it & practice it, with truthfulness & sincerity, & complete for us Your Favor by increase in Knowledge & Action upon it.)"
